Conservation of Life
From the archives of TiPWiki, the unofficial Duke TIP Wiki
A policy of TIP.
The Law of Conservation of Life: Life can neither be created nor destroyed., a play on the physics law of Conservation of Energy.
In some rare cases, TIPsters attempt to modify it to read, "TIPster life can neither be created nor destroyed," but these suggestions are usually denied. It also appears to be a discouraging statement against TIP babies. Peter Sloan also clarified at TiP Lore (Duke East Term 1, 2010) that it is not a balance. You may not kill some one and then create life. It is not a "as long as we start and end with the same number of lives" policy. Much to the disappointment of several TiPsters.
