adj. Invented by Mallory, a member of Annie's RC group at Davidson Term II, 2005. The word is derived from awesome, this word expresses something positive. Being told that you're possum is very good and is a complement.
noun Possum used as a noun is negative. Being called a possum is one of the highest insults. You do not want to be called a possum.

Notes on Origin: It is suspected that this was used in a cheer, as Annie's RC group could not find anything to rhyme with awesome. From this, adj. and noun uses were derived.
